General Questions
Where do I start?
To get up and started quickly, Head of the Class recommends that you:
- Print the first 30 pages of the e‐book which corresponds to your child’s grade level
and use the book to present 1 to 2 skills a day to your child. You can and should
print the remainder of the ebooks at a later time.
- Create an account for your child and have him or her log into the system using the
username and password that you specify.
Why should I create an account for my child?
Head of the Class is designed to track a learner’s progress through the curriculum.

most learners, we suggest that you start Head of the Class at your child’s current
grade level. He or she should be able to quickly review known content and master
new material. If you allow your child to log into the site more than once per day,
you can reduce the 180 days required to complete the curriculum. In addition, Head
of the Class allows parents and teachers to preview and skip content which will
be displayed on the learner menu.
Can my child skip a grade?
Yes, Head of the Class lets you select your child’s grade level. That said, Head

time your child logs into the children’s menu, the system will present him or her
with a list of topic options. Ideally, your child will log into the system at least
once per day. That said, the more often your child logs in and completes activities,
the faster he or she will progress through the curriculum.
I’ve downloaded the e‐book, now what?
After you download and print an e‐book for a specific grade level, you should start
working through the skills the book presents in a sequential manner. You should
try to present at least two skills per day to your child. As you read the e‐book,
you will encounter italic text. Normally, you can simply read that text to your
